Eleven O’Clock Couloir is another locals’ favorite. Just left of the center face of Broken Top, Eleven O’Clock Couloir snakes it’s way up the main face of the open bowl. Steep snow followed by wrapping around the other side of the peak to the summit makes for an awesome objective. This climb on Broken Top is best done as a spring climb when the snow is nice and filled in on the route. Broken Top has the best winter access of any of the peaks in the Central Oregon Cascades. We use snowmobiles to access the wilderness line. There is still a significant approach on foot.
