Trip Details

Trade the lift lines for untouched powder. Join our professional guides for a backcountry ski touring adventure in Oregon’s legendary Three Sisters Wilderness, where deep snow, old-growth forests, and alpine bowls create the perfect playground for skiers and riders who crave a little more.

Why Ski with Us

Skip the long approach — our snowmobile-assisted backcountry tours get you to the good snow faster. More turns, more laps, and more time where it matters most: on the descent.

We’re avalanche-certified professionals and seasoned locals who ski, guide, and explore the Three Sisters year-round. From secret powder stashes to remote alpine lines, we know exactly where to find the best snow conditions every day of the season.

When and Where We Operate

Our ski touring programs run all winter long in and around Bend, Oregon, with access to terrain near the Three Sisters Wilderness, Broken Top, and Tam Rim. The season typically runs from December through April, offering months of deep snow and incredible ski conditions.

Whether you want a single unforgettable day or a multi-day mission through the Cascade backcountry, our guides will handle the logistics — you just show up ready to ski.

Happy guests on the summit of Mt Hood

"I am very happy with my TMG experience. The guides were professional, personable, and extremely concerned about safety. . . I absolutely give highest marks to these guys. If you don't have much Alpine experience, or just want the security of seasoned veterans guiding you up this mountain, then I strongly recommend you sign up with them. Thanks, guys, for a great experience!!"

"What a fantastic experience gaining the summit of a mountain we've gazed on from Portland for 25 years! . . . We learned a great deal, had a ton of fun, felt in very capable hands, and had the reward of summiting on a beautiful clear day. The value of being with a professional, certified, guide and guiding organization was evident throughout. Kudos to the TMG team who were responsive, supportive, and fun to work with every step of the way."

"We booked 2-day overnight program on Mt. Hood with Timberline Mountain Guides. Our guides were great, . . super friendly and reputable. The program did not go as planned due to inclement weather but we still had fun and good experience. The guides were definitely flexible and provided guidance during the trip. I would recommend going with them if it's your first climbing trip on Mt. Hood for sure."

Know Before You Go

No prior backcountry skiing/riding experience is required. We can teach you all the skills you’ll need: skinning, transitioning and group communication.

Prior downhill skiing experience is a must. Off-piste experience is recommended. Untracked snow is one of the great joys of the backcountry – but skiing ungroomed terrain requires technique and experience. Consider getting off the groomed trails, or taking a lesson at your local resort before exploring backcountry skiing and riding.
