Climbing Steep Snow on Mount Hood

Wy’East Route

Great access and fun climbing combine to make this a classic Mount Hood climb for those who have already  summited via one of the standard south side routes.  After getting out of the snow cat at the top of the Palmer chairlift we’ll head towards and cross the White River Glacier.  The climb will take us up along the Steel Cliffs and up through a steep gulley before placing us on the summit of Mount Hood.  This is a great early season alternative for climbers with previous steep snow climbing experience or for climbers who have successfully climbed with Timberline Mountain Guides on Mount Hood’s south side.
