Shasta North Side

Mt. Shasta

We offer our Mt. Shasta climbs through a cooperative arrangement with Sierra Wilderness Seminars. The Hotlum-Bolum route is an exciting intermediate route, and is conducted on the more remote North Side of the mountain. We may also consider one of the East Side routes depending on conditions.

Hotlum-Bolum Route (3 Days)

This 3 day trip on Mt. Shasta is offered on the more remote Hotlum-Bolum route. For folks who have some experience under their belt, this is a great climb combining glacier travel as well as some steeper climbing. On Day 1, we'll hike into a high camp, climb the mountain on Day 2, and hike out on Day 3. Participants should have some previous experience with steep snow climbing, and be able to carry at least a 50 pound pack into our high camp. This is a great introduction to a 14,000' peak with great access. If you are thinking about Mt. Rainier in the future, this would be an ideal warm up.

Offered: July 30- Aug. 1, 2010.
Ratio: 3:1
Cost: $720 per climber for groups of two or more.
Private Guiding: Private guiding is available for our Mt. Shasta Climbs. Contact our office for details on cost.
